North Kansas City Public Library's Summer Reading Program!
Think sandy beaches, ocean breezes, and tropical fun! Families participating in North Kansas City Public Library's 2008 SUMMER READING PROGRAM are going to "Book a Trip to the Beach!". Our vacation will kick off with the library's annual "Party-in-the-Park" |
on Wednesday, June 11th, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The "Festival Grounds" at Macken Park will become a sunny paradise featuring live tropical entertainment, music, games, prizes, and crafts.
The party is sponsored by North Kansas City Hospital. North Kansas City Kiwanis will serve grilled hotdogs, chips, and ice cream to make the party a true community summer celebration! North Kansas City Public Library's Summer Reading Program is available to all children. The library also offers a summer program for teens. Teens are permitted to join both programs. Readers will enjoy a great collection of books, graphic novels, and a wide selection of popular media including DVDs, CDs, and recorded books. In-house computers - "just for kids"- offer a menu of games to please all ages.
In addition to morning and afternoon weekly story times and crafts, several special programs including musicians, puppeteers, storytellers and much more will be available for everyone's enjoyment throughout the summer months. Grab your grass skirt and sunglasses! See you at our "Tiki Hut" in the children's library for pre-registration beginning May 1st, 2008!
