America's Star Libraries 2012

We've done it again! The Library is proud to
announce that it's been named one of Library
Journal's  America's Star Libraries for the
second year in a row! Once again, the Library
received a five-star rating. It was also ranked
8th in the entire nation among libraries in its
category. We'd like to extend a big thank you
to all our patrons, whose utilization of the
Library and its resources helped us earn

Arbor Day at the Library

The City of NKC celebrated Arbor Day in
style at the Library last month! The April
26 ceremony highlighted the City's 16th
consecutive Tree City USA Award, as well
as the two newly planted Bald Cypress 
trees on the Library's north lawn. It also 
featured a seedling giveaway, courtesy of
the MO Department of Conservation. Above,

the department's 2013 focus on trees native
to Missouri before helping hand out seedlings.
